A DREAM COME TRUE! It is already February, and I just finished my very successful production of Miriam and Esther go to the Diamond District at the Magic Theatre in San Francisco. It was an amazing collaborative process that took a literal village (over 24 people) to make it happen.
There was the theatre and their staff, the technicians who ran the lights, sound, backstage, the carpenters, designers, and seamstresses as well as the actors, the dramaturg, the assistant director, the understudy, myself, the writer, the director and the producer, there was a production manager, and an assistant production manager, as well as a stage manager and an assistant stage manager and the stagehands. In short – it took all these talented people to make the magic spectacle of my play come to fruition.
Not unlike the listing and selling of a property. Whenever a property goes to market, it is not just the agent (or director), but the crew of people that prepare the house for sale, the stagers, the landscapers, the painters, the handymen, the vendors who construct things, the title company, escrow officer, their assistants, the listing agent's assistants, the buyer's agents team, the buyer agent, the marketing team, photographers, videographers, drone operators, 3d tour makers, floor plan makers, the ad review staff, the MLS staff, the staff of the magazines and periodicals and websites that the property is marketed in – the list goes on. And in every single case, the key to all of it working well is teamwork and collaboration. I think sometimes no one knows what actually goes into the successful marketing and sale of a property. Well, it is a whole group of like-minded people all working together to make something happen.
Starting with the sellers, who should listen to their agent's advice on pricing, timing and budgets etc., and moving to the buyers ultimately, who should also follow their agent's advice.
In the 26 years I have been an agent, the times when things go well, when everything is coming together like magic is because a known crew of people are working together collaboratively, and without ego, to get the job done.
One of the things I love about my company COMPASS are the guiding principles:
- DREAM BIG
- MOVE FAST
- LEARN FROM REALITY
- BE SOLUTIONS DRIVEN
- OBSESS ABOUT OPPORTUNITY
- COLLABORATE WITHOUT EGO
- MAXIMIZE YOUR STRENGTHS
- BOUNCE BACK WITH PASSION
Simple things to say, but so powerful when adhered to. I try to live my whole life this way, and hope you do too!
The market is amazing, and with interest rates coming down, and still record low inventory, it is a great time to be a buyer or a seller! Take a risk and see what comes your way - great things happen when you Dream Big!
